Your privacy is important to me. This Privacy Policy explains how SmartQR ("I", "my", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information.

No Tracking or Advertising

SmartQR does not contain any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. I do not track you across apps or websites, and I do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Information I Collect

Information You Provide

• QR Code Content: The URLs, text, or other data you encode in QR codes
• QR Code Designs: Customization choices including colors, shapes, and logos

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Identifiers: Anonymous identifiers used for authentication and sync
• Scan Data (Pro): When someone scans your QR code, I collect the scan timestamp and approximate location (city/country level) derived from the scanner's IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
• Push Notification Tokens: Used to deliver scan notifications to your device

Support and Feedback

If you contact support or submit feedback through the App, your message and any information you provide may be processed by third-party services (such as Netlify Forms) to facilitate communication. I will only use this information to respond to your inquiry.

Information I Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone) unless you contact support
• Precise GPS location of scanners
• Personal information about people who scan your QR codes

How I Use Your Information

I use the collected information to:

• Provide QR code creation and customization features
• Enable scan tracking and analytics for Pro users
• Send push notifications when your QR codes are scanned
• Sync your QR codes across your devices via iCloud
• Improve and maintain the App
• Respond to support requests

Data Storage

Local Storage

Your QR codes and their designs are stored locally on your device using Core Data. This data is included in your device's iCloud backup if enabled.

Cloud Storage

For Pro users, I store the following in secure cloud infrastructure (Firebase):

• QR code identifiers for scan tracking
• Scan events (timestamp and approximate location)
• Push notification tokens
• Subscription status

Data Sharing

I do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), I confirm: I do not sell your personal information.

I may share data with:

• Service Providers: I use Firebase (Google) for authentication, cloud storage, and push notifications. Their privacy policy applies to their handling of data.
• Legal Requirements: I may disclose information if required by law or to protect my rights.

Data Retention

• Local data remains on your device until you delete the App or the data
• Scan events in the cloud are ephemeral and automatically deleted within 24 hours after triggering notifications
• Scan history is retained locally on your device for as long as you maintain an active Pro subscription
• After subscription cancellation, cloud-stored data is deleted within 30 days

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data I have about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your QR codes
• Opt out of analytics by not upgrading to Pro

Security

I implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication via Firebase
• Access controls on cloud resources

Children's Privacy

SmartQR is not intended for children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe I have collected such information, please contact me.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date.

Apple App Store
